Welcome to The Tally Ho, a podcast about the classic TV series The Prisoner.

In 2017 as Twin Peaks season 3 reached its conclusion and fans were looking for something else to experience, we wrote an article giving 10 Reasons why Twin Peaks fans should watch The Prisoner.

Fast forwarding two and a half years – and after more than 50 hours of Prisoner ramblings as part of our Tally Ho podcast – we felt it was time to discuss the links between these two seminal TV series in-depth. In this episode we talk about the influence that The Prisoner had on Twin Peaks and its co-creator Mark Frost, and examine the many thematic, structural and aesthetic connections that exist between our two favourite shows.

    Hi gang, I loved your most recent Tally Ho podcast about the connections between The Prisoner and Twin Peaks.

    In particular I loved your conversation about Prisoner references in TV, film etc.

    One of my favourite homages is also one of the earliest. As a fan of The Avengers TV series one of my favourite episodes is the February 1969 story “Wish You Were Here” where Tara King becomes trapped in a posh hotel in a quiet small town.

    It’s well worth a watch if you haven’t seen it.

    Anyway, keep up the fine work you two – be seeing you!

      It makes me happy to see that someone is also a fan of the series “The Prisoner “, “Twin Peaks” and “The Avengers”! These series were very important in my childhood/teens (I am born in 1997) when I saw these series in TV/of DVD the first time! These series have influenced me a lot in my life!

    Hi ,
    I discovered today your podcast “The Tally Ho talks The Prisoner and Twin Peaks” and I am glad to find like-minded people who discuss about the connections of the two series! I always thought in the past that these series are linked together and I often thinking about the question if Patrick McGoohan know about Twin Peaks (Frost/Lynch) and vice versa! The world from the village is surrounding us as like the spirit of Twin Peaks. There are many “villages” and there are many “places” so has said Frost like Twin Peaks (2017).
    Thanks a lot for bringing these two series together and for creating a dialogue for these ingenious series!
