Welcome to The Tally Ho, a new podcast about the classic TV series The Prisoner. In this episode, we talk to Nicholas Briggs and Iain Meadows from Big Finish Productions about their Prisoner audiodramas.

Nick is showrunner and writer on the series and Iain is the sound designer. Both are huge Prisoner fans and talked to us about their thoughts on the original series and the challenges of adapting it for audio. Now in their second series, these audiodramas are well worth checking out if you are a fan of the show.

NICHOLAS BRIGGS is an actor, writer, director and co-founder of Big Finish Productions, which is known for its acclaimed audio productions in the universes of Doctor Who, Blake’s 7, The Avengers and more recently, The Prisoner. He has led the team that has reimagined The Prisoner as an audiodrama series, currently in its second series. This outstanding collection includes new adaptations and riffs on episodes of the TV series, alongside original stories perfectly in keeping with The Prisoner mythology. IAIN MEADOWS is a writer, broadcaster and sound designer who has worked on many audiodramas for Big Finish as well as with his own production company Spiteful Puppet, which has recently produced an award-winning Robin of Sherwood audiodrama, available here.

FIONA MOORE is an author of guidebooks to SF television series, plays, audio dramas, and stories. She is also a Professor of Business Anthropology at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is the co-author, with Alan Stevens of Fall Out: The Unofficial and Unauthorised Guide to The Prisoner (Telos Publishing, 2007). The Tally Ho: Our new podcast about The Prisoner

THE PRISONER, one of our favourite shows of all time is turning 50 on Friday 29th Septmber 2017! To celebrate this, we’ve been putting together a series of podcast episodes that will begin this week: Welcome to The Tally Ho podcast from Time for Cakes and Ale!

The Tally Ho will feature interviews with people from all corners of the world of The Prisoner, including authors who have written about the show, fans, and creators of Prisoner-related works. We talk about what makes the show so special and what has inspired them to contribute to its enduring legacy.

In the new year we will be following this up with an in-depth 17-part episode-by-episode podcast featuring some very special guests to dissect each story from the original run.

Time for Cherry Pie and Coffee – PART 15

Part 15 of Twin Peaks The Return firmly puts the town in the centre of events as the major mysteries move towards the final 3 hours and tensions reach fever pitch. Mr C reaches the Dutchman’s only to confront both a former colleague and Richard Horne, Dougie has the electrifying urge to put the old team back together, and after 25 years Ed and Norma might finally get their chance at happiness. This episode was also filled with references to Fire Walk With Me and resurrected two of its most enigmatic elements: the fate of the long lost Philip Jeffries and the mysterious Judy. But the central focus was the passing of Margaret Lanterman, the Log Lady.

Cor blimey Piehards, it’s only Part 14 of Twin Peaks The Return! In an episode jam packed with developments, we finally venture to Jack Rabbit’s Palace, learn the history of the first Blue Rose case, and hear a tall tale about a green gardening glove, not to mention Sarah’s dramatic night out. But perhaps the strangest and most affecting moments come when watching Cole’s memory of a memory wrapped in a dream.
